Tired zzz's
smiley_laydee
This is a short one because I am pooped. Had a restless night before getting up earlyish to get into school for approximately 8am. I am sooo nervous about tomorrow where I am going to have to stand in front of 30 5-7 year olds and get them to pretend they are bicycles. Lizzie (one of my tutors) told us once that she constantly has the "will they do what I say or even listen to me" dream, and she is an experienced teacher who has been a head! This idea comforts me like not many others. I can do this...

One day down. Only 60-something left to go! Things have to get easier.

Just waiting for group people to hurry up. Wasted a morning waiting for them which I'm not ecstatic about.

Spent all of yesterday writing a guidebook (for English) on teaching EAL (english as an additional language) children in guided reading sessions. The only good bit was drawing stickmen!! Now I just have to do 2 plans to reflect what I want them to learn. I've chosen The Tiger Who Came to Tea and Where the Wild Things Are but don't know whether EAL children would be able to decode it or not?

Then I have a 1500 word commentary on role play in history (subject)

It's Clare and Janes birthday do tonight but I don't fancy dressing up fancy

Lalala.... wasted enough time

I have just spent 13 hours doing creativity. THIRTEEN HOURS. Whoever knew you could spend so long on an assignment. Now have one less thing to worry about!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Although still have loads :S

Hello lj world,

This week I am learning about how to teach modern foriegn languages for ks2 children. The reasons why I don't want to be doing this are twofold:

1) I have been doing an optional french module for the past 12 weeks
2) I am an early years specialist which means I should be teaching up to the end of KS1 not KS2

I've finished my dissertation proposal and started the other 3 assignments with 3 weeks to go (aah!). Luckily most people haven't started / finished the dp so I'm slightly ahead. This means I'm not such a stresshead!

Possibly going to a shades rave on Saturday :D And It's Ben's birthday on thursday but we have to dress up as a piece of stationery, errr?

Seeing my mum Thursday and the rest of the week is going to be study time.

3 more to go. Tomorrow I have 3 meetings about it all though starting at 9am bleugh!!

Just thankful for a little weight to be lifted from my shoulders.

It didn't snow on our little trip but decided to hit us with other sorts of precipitation. We definately didn't want to venture out but even though our tutor is quite pregnant, she was very up for going out and sploshing around collecting litter and leaves for our journey sticks. I have to admit it was quite fun in the end! :D

Today we've been chillaxing. Dan has been doing AS (autistic spectrum) tests whilst I've been doing reading for my early years class. We might go out this afternoon (I hope) but we will see.

Tonight is the night for bravery and near nakedness. Not mine but my friends are into wearing corsets and suspenders and stockings! Charlottes birthday is gonna be interesting.

We have just had the most hilarious English lecture where my tutor couldn't stop talking about removing her "flaps". Might be one of those "you had to be there" type things!

Being a bit overwhelmed by the talk of dissertation proposals. I've started collecting articles and buying books but it's due in 5 weeks! We've only been doing the module for 3 weeks... Mine is on the effects of preschool / early years education on achievement in school. Are children better off being with their mum's until the age of 3/4 or in the care of others? I want to prove (kind of) that parents are key to how children function in formal schooling later on.

Uhhhm field trip to the park tomorrow :D Let's hope it doesn't snow!

Garbled brain messages

This week has been filled with pain since I pulled my back on wednesday and my hip decided to have a clicky old time this morning. Hopefully my body will be fully operational again before Charlotte's birthday on Thursday! We're getting dressed up as 'Moulin Rouge' which loosely translates as 'slutty as possible'. Unfortunately I'm not blessed in the breasticle department so I am making do :P I've got a black cami / corset type top coming in the post and I will venture out to Chi mid-week to find some shorts, fishnets and feathers :D

In other news my aunt has been diagnosed with MS but I don't really want to go into that because life is meant to be sunshine and rainbows.

We had our grades posted up for early years. I'd been anxiously anticipating them since I had done loads of research and I came 2nd in the class! Hard work does pay off apparently! The closer I get to becoming a teacher the more I am afraid of the responsibility, Ho[efully placement will change my mind...

Errr what else... I am going to see Nick and Norah's Infinate Playlist with some of my uni girls tonight. It should be good. Be nice to see people after not being at Uni for a few days!

An exciting month!!
smiley_laydee
Been getting a few things sorted before getting back to my uni ways. Just sending off emails and tying up loose ends with paperwork so I'm a bit more organised.

Having to apply for the job I currently have for the new company which has taken over the pharmacy. A bit surreal having to give my ex-boss my banks details and cv again! Although having a beepy-scanning machine which prints reciepts is so helpful!! And the order system is so much better.

Realised that my gerbil Spice is getting old today :( She's been cuddling into Dan's legs on the sofa instead of running about and getting into mischief. Although she did try and eat the hair on his legs while she was there!

Been looking at houses and getting all gushy about the future. We can't afford it yet (Dan is still unemployed too) but it's exciting.

Mum's birthday is in 2 weeks. So far she has said I can buy her a decorative bowl at £50 or Sweaty Betty trousers for running which are £55 :| I don't think she understands the meaning of 'poor'.

My school placement officer told me I won't be going to the school I thought I was. Tony and I have been rejected bc other uni's got there first! This makes me a bit sad. I was looking forward to seeing Mr Burton in action.

Dan and I will be celebrating our 4 year anniversary on the 29th of this month :D

Last week before Christmas. Ill again but happy because all my work is done and I can't wait to hand it all in!!

Went to a little xfactor party last night. Hannah's friend Vicky gave us all massages which was a bit weird to be honest. It was nice but because I was ill I just couldn't muster the strength to hold up conversation and I couldn't fully relax! I was glad that JLS didn't win Xfactor mainly because everyone else did! I love Oeghan (or however it's spelt, we just call him Egg-man) but I just felt Alex deserved it a bit more for consistantly good performances (although she is slightly warbly and sobs all the time!)

Monday - work :(
Tuesday - find out where my special interest placement will be, presentation day and handing in all work
Wednesday - Xmas meal at spoons with fellow teachers
Thursday - Clubbing
Friday - freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedom
