Writer's Block: Desert Island Time
smiley_laydee
You're packing your bag for that magical desert island that happens to have electricity, a TV, and a DVD player—what five DVDs do you take with you?

That is a toughie!

Meet the Robinsons
Die Hard
Shawshank Redeption
The Dark Knight
Knocked Up

All bring different things to the table (or island in this case!)

We now have 4 new baby gerbils! Dan went into the pet shotp on his lunch break and saw 4 tiny furballs noting that one of them was white and asleep before ringing me to let me know they were there. We had 2 conditions 1.) they were all females and 2.) that the white one was black eyed (although this didn't matter as much, the problems we had with Sugar being albino were all too fresh in our minds). When we got there thier little eyes opened and the white one (we now call Bounty) had black eyes. We got one of the ladies to open the cage for us and tell us if they were girls and they were! I was shaking becuase I was so excited! They are 10 weeks old and have been pretty shy the past 2 days but their little personalities are starting to appear.

Butterfinger loves to be picked up and sits on the top shelf waiting for us,
Bounty has attempted to be an escape artist 4 or 5 times and generally is noey, looking at what you're doing or what the noise is about.
Caramac likes to scratch the cage and follows Butterfinger around.
Oreo is soooo shy and will sit under the shelves / in a box instead of playing with her sisters. When she is out she likes to dig under the sawdust and then reappears with big flakes of it stuck to her head.

When we got back with them, the washing maching had jiggled Spices ball off of our fridge freezer which was strange. Not sure if we should read that as anything... I'm not superstitious enough.

In other news I'm still avoiding anything to do with uni.

Writer's Block: Pecking Order

Are you an oldest, youngest, middle, or only child? How do you think it has influenced your personality?
I'm the eldest and there are pro's and con's.

I am the oldest by a little (2 years 7 months) with my full sister and a lot (17 years) with my half sister. I think much more is expected of me being the eldest. My Dad says he doesn't worry about me at all and I should make sure my dizzy 20 year old sister is ok. In a way its sweet because they trust me to make the right decisions but it also means my parents don't notice when I need support in return. They are too busy worrying about what the other two are doing.

My sister and I used to fight alot but now we get on alright, mostly because I keep a lid on it. She is often given everything she wants i.e. we moved out of our family home at the same age and she has everything new which mum and dad bought her whereas everything we had was old, cracked or bought through our hard earnt savings.

My 5 year old hald sister is sort of an only child since she lives in Scotland with my dad and her mum. She is cute and I love her but she expects to be spoilt. She also doesn't have a very good concept of sharing or waiting for things because she pretty mmuch gets things on demand. I'd like Dad to have another but he won't!

5569_219137280082_562015082_8055975_3185030_n by you.

This post is brought to you by my amazing 5 year old sister and her "shocked" face,

America was fantastic. The weather was beautiful and I really enjoyed spending time with my family. We ate yummy food and didn't get much of a tan! Evie got to meet her hero Stitch and screamed her head off on some of the rides adding "I am never going to do that again in my life". She makes me laugh so much.

Since coming home I've had the "holiday blues" (expression borrowed from 2 friends of mine) as uni is looming. Mostly I've had enough of acedemia. I'm a third year now with 9 months left so I've just got to suck it up and have no life for just a bit longer.

Le sigh.

Up to Edinburgh tomorrow night for a week at Dad's. A few of my uni friends are going up to the festival so we might meet up with them for a bit too. Just be nice to escape from uni thoughts to be fair.

I am too lazy to update properly.

Tiny Entry

Banksy was pretty good. I only managed to get rubbish quality photo's on my phone but my sis took her digital SLR (grr) camera. I wasof the mindset that some oif the work was technically good but some of the idea's were poor and he could have selected issues which were more poignant now rather than animal testing which has been done many times before. I liked the alterations he has made to classic works of art but some of it was naff. My favourite piece was his version of parliament with the monkeys because it was sooo massive and was a good representation of MP's today.

Uni is finished for the year. Less than 2 week til I go to Florida with my family!

Dan has gone on a training course this week. Every noise in the flat seems to be amplified through the night because I'm so jumpy! Had a rotten nights sleep without him, What made it worse was the lady from No. 20 banging on about something very loudly for over an hour in the morning (starting from 8.23 to be exact). I hadn't gone to bed til gone 1 since I'd been at the pub to celebrate Liz's (uni course person) birthday and I needed to watch BB! (ok I know it's sad...)

This week should be fun packed anyway!
Today: we're (lorg, jade and me) going to west witterings beach and I can lie on the sand and aaaah....
Tonight: I'm going to stay at my mum's because...
Wednesday: I'm going to BANKSY's exhibition in Bristol with my family and then we are going to shop (even though we have no money!)
Thursday: Uni
Friday: Dan comes home
Saturday: My auntie June is coming down from Newcastle for a funeral on Friday but it's her birthday on Saturday so it will be lovely to see her.

It's all go!

Have nothing whatsoever planned for next week though.

Things have been quite busy. Last night it was nice to shut off for a bit with Becca and Tony coming round and going to the Hut for tea.

Only three days until Half Term. Thank God!! Sorry children you wear me out...

Got my last assignment mark of the year back yesterday and I got an A. Woohoo!

I wish I could do fuck all like everyone else seems to be at the moment. And then moan about it because I have nothing better to do. It's boring is it? Fuck off and get yourself a hobby then! Sometimes the grass really is greener on the other side!!!

Momentous occassions. One quarter of the way trhough placement. 50 days until uni is over. 4 years 3 month of me and Dan. Dan's 25th birthday next Tuesday. Many of these make me happy. 50 days, however, feels like far too long when my sister is moaning about having a week and a half left. Silly moo.
